Remanufactured Engine Warranty

Remanufactured Engines, transmissions, transfer cases and related drivetrain components.


Spencer's Auto Parts provides the highest quality remanufactured parts to their customers. Each drivetrain
component will have its warranty period posted on the listing and at the time of sale. This warranty can
not be changed or altered after purchased. Some remanufactured drivetrain components have a parts and
labor warranty, see product details for those terms. All labor hours are paid our per manufacturer
installation and removal procedure. We use AllData to collect this information, labor payout can not
exceed cost of item purchased. See product details for labor reimbursement cost before purchasing. All
remanufactured orders must have VIN and Mileage from the vehicle at time of sale. We recommend
taking a photo of the odometer. Spencer's has the right to cancel an order if customer ordered incorrectly
or process the difference in product pricing for the correct part per customers agreement.


Shipping warranty and Warranty Exclusions are the same for all new, remanufactured and used drivetrain
components.


To initiate a warranty claim, contact us by email with your order number, name, part ordered and a
description of the problem or the circumstance of the part Failure.


To qualify for Free Shipping, the product must be shipped to a commercially zone address that has the
ability to unload a tractor or trailer. For more details, please refer to Shipping and Returns Policy.


Canceling an order after 24 hours from the time of purchase is subject to a 25% handling and restocking
fee plus the customer assumes all shipping cost. This applies to any item sold by Spencer's Auto Parts.


Parts coverage: All remanufactured parts will be shipped as stripped down long block interchanges. There
will be no fluid or filters installed when shipped, customer must provide new fluid and filters as needed.
Customer will need to provide all external covers, seals and gaskets as needed. Spencer's is not responsible
for providing external bolt on parts such as but not limited to, intake manifold, oil pan, exhaust manifold,
valve covers or other bolt on accessories to the outside of the block and heads.


All parts and drivetrain items are intended for use under the manufactures guidelines, modifications or
alterations to “make it work” will void this warranty. All items sold are intended for the vehicle that part
was ordered for. Swapping engines or using components not intended for oem purposes will be denied any and all warranties unless expressed at the time of sale.


Core Conditions:
Please return the core in the same build level as the remanufactured part provided. If not, there
will be a charge back. Core re-rurn periods based on product ordered, see part description for
return time frames. Cores must have block and heads intact, must be able to rotate engine
assembly. Non usable core returns can have their core refund voided. Some cases a 50% core
reimbursement can be issued.

Warranty and Return Policy

Used Engines, Transmission, Transfer cases and related Drivetrain Components.


All Spencer's Auto Parts that are Drivetrain Components (Referring to Engines, Transmission, Transfer
cases, Front and Rear Axles will be referred to as Drivetrain Components or Part(s) in this section) will
have the option of a 1, 3 or 5 year warranty option at checkout. Each warranty period (1,3 or 5 year) will
follow the same terms and conditions as listed here. All USED drivetrain components are guaranteed to be
in working order at the time of purchase. This is an unlimited mile parts only warranty on used drivetrain
items. The warranty is not transferable to anyone at any time. We offer a one-time replacement part of the
part that failed. Your part must be installed withing 30 days of delivery.


During the Warranty period chosen by the consumer, we will replace that part at our option or refund your
money within 30 days of delivery for a part that proves defective under normal use and maintenance.
Customer is responsible for returning the part with the original invoice to us. Refer to Shipping and
Return policy for more information. Part must be properly packaged and secured for shipping. Once we
receive the part we will check it for our original markings, and proceed with processing your warranty
claim.

If the engine or transmission is disassembled in any way without our expressed written authorization will
void all warranty.


Case of improper installation by and uncertified mechanic at a non-licensed repair facility.


Problems cause by vehicle accident, fire, theft, vandalism, acts of terror or natural disasters such as
hurricanes, flooding, earthquakes, flash flood, rock or mud slides or hail.


Operation of the vehicle without proper lubrication or cooling regardless of the reason for any period of
time.


Manufacture Recall, contact your local dealership for more information.


Continuing to operate the vehicle after part failure for any amount of time.


Used engines are sold as long block interchanges, some parts may need to be swapped as needed from
customers original engine. Parts not covered under warranty: Intake manifold and parts related to the
intake manifold such as injectors, fuel rail, egr, throttle body of any kind (TBI EFI or Carburetor) , oil
pan, flywheel/flexplate, exhaust manifolds, timing cover, timing chain guides, timing chains, balancer,
water pump, engine accessories such as alternator, water pump, starter, power steering pump, ac
compressor, valve covers, all hoses or hard lines, any sensors, wiring harnesses and turbos. Some of these
parts may be shipped with the engine as a convenience but are not guaranteed.


Diesel Engines: We do not cover injectors, injection pumps, high-pressure oil pumps, high-pressure fuel
injectors, turbo, or any other part which is not part of the engine as defined above.

Make sure to inspect all deliveries and note any damages on the delivery receipt. If damage occurred
during transit Spencer's Auto Parts must be notified within 48 hours of delivery. Items not reported within
that time frame will not be covered and no refunds will be issued.


Shipping and Return Policy:

Customer is responsible for return shipping cost and up to 25% restocking fee if the part is unused,
appearance issues, incorrect part ordered, refused delivery or unable to deliver. Parts that are returned
must be done within 30 days of receiving for a refund, after 30 days there will only be the option of
replacement only on all drivetrain components.


Farms, Schools, Trailer Parks, Shopping Plazas, Government Buildings and various places do not qualify
for our free shipping promotion. Spencer's has the right to determine if the address provided falls within
these guidelines. Spencer's Auto Parts has the right to charge for additional shipping cost if additional
accessorial are used at time of delivery.

Installation and Maintenance Procedures

​

Transmission Assembly:
• Check the flexplate for cracks or excessive wear on the starter teeth.
• Replace oil pan gasket, front, and axle seals (if applicable).
• Swap over any electrical wiring, sensors, valve bodies, linkage from the original transmission to the
replacement.
• Replace the transmission filter if it is an automatic (ATTENTION: There will be NO Filter or Fluid
inside)
• Replace transmission cooler if it is a CVT ( ATTENTION: Cooler may ship with transmission, must
still be replaced.)
• Reprogram/ relearn transmission as necessary. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
• Flush & inspect transmission cooling lines. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
• Properly align torque converter (Automatic Transmission Only).
• Finish installation of the transmission. When finished, add transmission fluid to the manufacturer's
specifications. Start the engine and add more TF immediately. Additional fluid can now be added
until the transmission reads ‘full’ on the dipstick.
• Reset control module codes.
• Adjust throttle position sensor cable.
• Please note any electrical sensors, filters, pan gaskets that have been left on the transmission are
not warrantied or covered, they are simply left on for convenience and are intended to be replaced
accordingly. Some of these items are left on to simply keep out any debris from entering the unit.
• COVERED COMPONENTS:
• Transmission: The following components of automatic or manual transmission: Torque Converter,
Oil pump, Drums, Planetaries, Sun Gear & Shell, Sprags, Shafts, Bearings, Shift Rails, Forks,
Synchronizers. . External switches and sensors are not covered.
• Leaking gaskets or seals are not covered.
• New Fluid, Filter (Transmission Cooler if CVT) and reprogramming is required at time of
installation.

Axle Assembly:
• Replace seals and cover gasket (where applicable)
• Fill to the proper level using proper fluids in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines.
• All tires on the vehicle must be the same size as recommended by the manufacturer for the
vehicle.
• None of the following are covered if included with assembly: hubs, bearings, brakes, steering
linkage, brake lines, dust covers, seals or gaskets.
• COVERED COMPONENTS:
• Axle Assembly: Axle housing, Axle shafts, Ring and Pinion

Engine Assembly:
• Perform a full tune-up (spark-plugs, wires, air filters, hoses, belts)
• Replace engine oil to manufacturers suggested levels
• Replace oil filter
• Replace gaskets and swap as needed (intake and exhaust manifold, valve cover, oil pan & rear
main seal)
• Inspect and replace (as needed) new timing belt/chain/guides
• Replace thermostat and water pump
• Flush the cooling system and refill with antifreeze to appropriate level
• Swap over original wiring harness with sensors (Often the harness is cut while we remove the
engine)
• Swap over or replace all bolt-on accessories (Alternator, Starter, AC compressor, Dipstick etc)
• Change the oil after the first 600 miles and at recommended service intervals thereafter
• Service the vehicle at proper intervals as per manufacturer's guidelines
• NOTE - The exhaust manifold will not be included in cases where the catalytic converter cannot be
detached from it. * It is forbidden by law.
• COVERED COMPONENTS:
• ENGINE: The following components of gasoline or diesel engines: pistons, crankshaft, and main
bearings, connecting rods and rod bearings, camshaft and camshaft bearings, intake and exhaust
valves, valve springs, push rods, rocker arms, hydraulic lifters, and rocker arms. The engine block
and cylinder heads are covered only if damaged by a covered component.
• Leaking gaskets or seals are not covered.


Transfer Cases:
• Replace seals and cover gasket (where applicable)
• Fill to the proper level using proper fluids in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines.
• All tires on the vehicle must be the same size as recommended by the manufacturer for the
vehicle.
• Transfer any linkage, wiring harness, sensors, or electronic motors from original unit to the unit that
was purchased.
• COVERED COMPONENTS:
• Transfer Cases: Transfer case Housing, Gears, Chains
